Hello. I'm Jennie Anderson, a freelance Reconstruction Artist, Archaeological Illustrator, Scientific Illustrator, Artist and Designer, based in the south-west of England. I've over a decade of experience of creating illustrations for a wide range of clients, including The National Trust, Natural England, English Heritage, The Churches Conservation Trust, Oxfordshire and Lancashire County Councils, Avon Archaeological Trust, Oxford Castle, and many independent authors, archaeological units and historic sites. I was also employed by Wessex Archaeology Ltd for five years as part of their exceptionally-talented Graphics Studio team, through which I further developed my range of professional illustration skills. I am a full member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (portfolio gallery here).
I hold a B.A. in Fine Art from Winchester School of Art (Uni. of Southampton), and an M.A. (Distinction) in Archaeological Illustration from the University of Bath. I also worked for English Heritage and Historic England's Archives for 15 years as a researcher and cataloguer, researching a wide range of materials including historic and modern aerial photography, terrestrial architectural record photography, measured survey drawings, archaeological excavation records and reconstruction drawings.
Although my passion is in producing illustrations about archaeology, the historic environment, and the natural world, I'm always happy to discuss projects where my skills can be applied to other subject areas. To contact me with queries regarding commissions or re-use of my images, please use the form on the Contact page, or use my social media links.
